As mentioned in my previous post, after Timmy and I went to the Domes, we headed off to the zoo. Timmy has had a thing lately for brining one of his stuffed animals with us when we go out. It doesn't really matter where we are going either. It can be the zoo, the museum, the library, work. Doesn't matter.
The first stuffed animal to make a trip out of the house was Pablo. He's a Backyardigan (don't worry if you don't know, we don't really either because we don't watch the show). Here are Timmy and Pablo checking out the Halloween display at the zoo. I must say, they do a pretty good job of decking out the zoo for holidays.
Then Timmy decided that Pablo might like to see his fellow penguins. Apparently neither of them were impressed. Oh and yes, that's my hat on Timmy's head and not his own. I couldn't find his in the car (turns out it was in Erik's) so I just put mine on his head instead. A little big but not too bad.
This is the most amount of penguins I've seen out at one time (when it wasn't feeding time).
Pablo saw this and really wanted a souvenir of his trip to the zoo with us.
Unfortunately for Pablo, we didn't have any change to make his souvenir. Maybe next time, Pablo!
Timmy and Pablo check out the alligators and turtles.
Timmy and Pablo by the Mexican Beaded Lizards.
All that walking must have made Pablo's little legs and feet tired. Here he's stopping to use the Footsie Wootsie (again if we only had change...).
While Pablo rested his tired feet, Timmy got some more exercise running through the leaves.
Timmy with Pablo in front of the Grizzly bears. Apparently the sight was too frightening for Pablo.
Timmy showing Pablo the sign that says "Do Not Feed the Animals" and that it includes a picture of a penguin.
Look, Pablo! Geese!
On second thought, let's leave the geese alone.
The elephants were just getting fed lunch when we stopped by.
Timmy likes the elephants but wants to see more.
During November-March (I think) the zoo closes earlier during the day. This makes sense because there is less light and the temperatures are generally pretty cool. A few hours after we left the zoo, Erik called me at work to say that one of the elephants had fallen in the moat (you can see it in the picture above). Luckily, they were able to get her out without too much hassle and she was back in the exhibit again on Tuesday (so I heard, we obviously didn't go).
