We got there early to get Timmy acclimated to the new surroundings before too many people got over. Gretchen said there would be some appetizers...but there were A LOT. I'm glad that Timmy seemed to do his part on the veggie tray and cookies...and the chips. Paul was practically begging people to eat because he didn't want to be stuck with a ton of leftovers (completely understandable).
Chris and Beth came (because Beth and Gretchen have been friends since high school at least), and then Melissa and Nate too (Melissa is also in book club and went to Madison with Gretchen and Paul). So there were some people we knew besides Gretchen, Paul, and Gretchen's parents.
We had a great time. Erik enjoyed being able to drink and socialize with other guys, I had fun talking to my book club people, Timmy enjoyed running around with the other kids and going up by Gretchen and Paul's dog (sorry, never caught the name!). We stayed WAY too late with Timmy, but of course he didn't seem to mind.
It's nice to be able to go out more and socialize now that Timmy's a little older. Next time, I might bring some entertainment for him though. =)
