In September when we turned in Erik's truck, we decided to only have the one car. This seemed reasonable because we thought at the time we might be moving. Flash forward 6 months and having one car is getting a little old. We've put about 12k miles on the car since September and it means getting up early and leaving the house by 7 at the latest to get Erik to work on time in Mequon, Timmy to daycare in Wauwatosa, and me to work in Milwaukee (Timmy is really only about 20 blocks from me).
It's meant Erik having to spend more time at work on Tuesdays and Fridays, and sometimes being in the car for really long periods of time, especially if there's traffic. Well, no more!
Saturday we went and looked at a used 2005 Saturn Vue. It's a nice car and I like how it drives. This is especially important because it's a manual and basically meant just for me. Erik will be learning how to drive stick in the next few weeks, just in case he needs to drive it. It means we don't need to coordinate which car we are using, because each car has a car seat. Overall it just makes things a lot easier.
