Dave and Jenny Riley

On Saturday, my good friend and college roommate, Jenny, got married. She looked SO beautiful! I was able to see her right before the wedding and she was so excited! The service was great. I think Jenny cried during her vows which didn't surprise me at all. Sorry about the bad pictures, they were taken in haste, but you can get a glimpse of how great the day was for everyone.

Jenny and Dave leaving the church. Look how happy they are!
During their second "first" dance. The first time they went to dance, the fire alarm went off and we were supposed to leave. We found out that one of the workers had accidentally hit the fire alarm in the kitchen...ahh memories!
Jenny and I dancing the polka and clearly having a good time.
Look how happy and beautiful she is! Love it!
So the wedding marked the first time that I had actually met Dave, her husband. There had been a few opportunities over the years but they always fell through. So when we were polka-ing, he came up and she was telling him who I was and he said "I didn't think you actually existed, that you were just someone Jenny made up because I never met you". Which made me laugh SO hard because that's what I always said to Jenny about Dave. I think we'll get along just fine. =)

I am hoping now that the wedding stuff is over that we might actually have an opportunity to hang out with Jenny and Dave and bring Timmy along (he was at Paul and Katie's for the day). Both Dave and Erik are huge Star Wars fans so I think we'll all get along perfectly.

Happy Anniversary!

Five years ago today I married my best friend. A lot has changed since then, but I wouldn't change a thing. There have been stressful times, there have been happy times. I can't think of a person I would rather have shared those moments with than Erik. I am so glad that God has chosen him to walk beside me through life. Honey, I'm so happy to be your wife. I hope that you have enjoyed the past five years as much as I have.
Today we both took off of work to be able to enjoy our anniversary. We dropped Timmy off at school and then headed out for our day. First we went to the doctor so Erik could get a physical (and let me tell you, it was crazy there since the doctor's office just got their flu shots in the other day), and then headed out for lunch and a movie. We had lunch at Maggiano's and then went to see 'Couples Retreat'. It was a really good time. I thought 'Couples Retreat' was pretty funny. I think it's interesting to look at Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn and not only note where they are in their careers now, but also to look back at 'Swingers'. I think they met on the set of 'Rudy' and have been friends ever since. What a interesting story, huh? Anyway, it was a good day, despite the rain. =)

Happy Anniversary, Erik! I love you!

Dennis and Christine's Wedding

Last weekend, on October 11, Erik and I were blessed to be able to be a part of Dennis and Christine's wedding. Erik was a groomsmen and I was a reader. Since my mom was in town, she watched Timmy nap during the ceremony for us and then I went to get him while Erik went with the bridal party on the bus.

Here is the invitation for the wedding, nice fall colors:
Here's the programs that I made for them, using the same colors:

A picture of us. Can you see Erik's headache? I almost can.
Timmy enjoying the bread at the reception. I did think ahead and brought a few Thomas trains for Timmy to play with during the reception. Overall it went really well, he was a little confused as to why Daddy was not sitting with us and kept wanting to go up by him. Oh well.

(from Michelle or Kim's Facebook) Apparently, Dennis and Christine almost dated in high school but because of the age difference, and because her dad is a cop, they decided not to at that time. Kinda crazy that now, 11 years after Dennis graduated from high school, they are married. What an interesting story, huh?
A family picture of us with everyone smiling. =)
We had a really great time at the reception and were truly blessed to be a part of our friends' special day. Congratulations you two! Hope you enjoy your honeymoon! Can't wait to see you when you get back.

Ryan and Connie's Wedding

We were blessed to be able to attend Ryan and Connie's wedding in the middle of January and see some of our good friends.  It was a really good time and the reception was the first time Erik and I have gone out without Timmy since October.

Here are a few pictures from the night.  Enjoy!

Happy Anniversary

It's hard for me to believe but Erik and I have been married for 4 years today.  It really doesn't seem like it's been that long and if we didn't have a 30 month old I totally would not believe it.  A lot has changed in our lives (mostly obviously, becoming parents) but even more seems to have remained the same.

I would just like to take a moment to thank all of those who were able to share our special day with us and especially those who stood up for us.  We truly appreciate having such good friends and family surround us.

Erik, I am so thankful that God put you in my life.  You are a wonderful husband and father.  I could not have accomplished all that I have in my life without you.  Your constant support and desire to see me  accomplish my goals is more than I could have ever wished for.  I know that I have my Master's degree because of you and the sacrifices that you were willing to make.  I love you very much and am thankful that we've been able to be together for so long.  You are truly the love of my life.
