Five years ago today I married my best friend. A lot has changed since then, but I wouldn't change a thing. There have been stressful times, there have been happy times. I can't think of a person I would rather have shared those moments with than Erik. I am so glad that God has chosen him to walk beside me through life. Honey, I'm so happy to be your wife. I hope that you have enjoyed the past five years as much as I have.
Today we both took off of work to be able to enjoy our anniversary. We dropped Timmy off at school and then headed out for our day. First we went to the doctor so Erik could get a physical (and let me tell you, it was crazy there since the doctor's office just got their flu shots in the other day), and then headed out for lunch and a movie. We had lunch at Maggiano's and then went to see 'Couples Retreat'. It was a really good time. I thought 'Couples Retreat' was pretty funny. I think it's interesting to look at Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn and not only note where they are in their careers now, but also to look back at 'Swingers'. I think they met on the set of 'Rudy' and have been friends ever since. What a interesting story, huh? Anyway, it was a good day, despite the rain. =)

Happy 31st anniversary to my parents!  Your love and commitment to each other has been an inspiration to see and be a part of.  I hope that you were able to take some time today to truly appreciate how special you are, not only to each other, but to all who witness your lives together.  Congratulations!

30th Anniversary Party

On Saturday we were able to go up to Plymouth to celebrate my aunt and uncle's 30th anniversary.  While we didn't get a lot of time to talk to them, we were able to talk to my cousins, brother and sister-in-law, and my great uncle and great aunt.  It was a really good time and great weather!  You'll be shocked to know that I didn't take any pictures!  Oh well.  Timmy had a great time running around my cousin's backyard and just getting into general little kid trouble (like trying to rearrange the rocks in their garden, pulling up the lawn, and playing games).  I'm so glad that we went and were able to spend time with those important to us.  It's especially important because there aren't that many on that side of the family.  In fact, today I got a message from my mom saying my grandpa's cousin had died (not quite sure what that makes him to me...) and so that side of the family gets even smaller.  Here's to spending time with those important to you and to family!

Happy Anniversary to by best friend Katie and her husband Ryan.  It was such a joy to be a part of your wedding.  I really enjoyed it (being 7 months pregnant and all).  I hope that you two continue to have a life filled with love and respect.  I really miss being able to hang out with you whenever we want but am glad for the closeness that we continue to share.  Congratulations my friend!

Happy Anniversary

It's hard for me to believe but Erik and I have been married for 4 years today.  It really doesn't seem like it's been that long and if we didn't have a 30 month old I totally would not believe it.  A lot has changed in our lives (mostly obviously, becoming parents) but even more seems to have remained the same.  

I would just like to take a moment to thank all of those who were able to share our special day with us and especially those who stood up for us.  We truly appreciate having such good friends and family surround us.  

Erik, I am so thankful that God put you in my life.  You are a wonderful husband and father.  I could not have accomplished all that I have in my life without you.  Your constant support and desire to see me  accomplish my goals is more than I could have ever wished for.  I know that I have my Master's degree because of you and the sacrifices that you were willing to make.  I love you very much and am thankful that we've been able to be together for so long.  You are truly the love of my life.
