We've had Bud for about a month now and things are going really well. Timmy and Bud get along great, with just a few small mishaps. Bud no longer tries to steal Timmy's trains or toys, nor does he really attempt to get on the furniture. Success!
With the nicer weather I've been trying to get the boys out more, at least to the backyard. They have a great time. Timmy plays with his bubbles or his car and Bud just runs around. It's a great time for all. Of course we won't be doing that today because it's a little colder, and more importantly overcast and rainy. While I don't mind rain, I normally read when we're outside which just isn't an option in the rain, and Bud is not a huge fan of the rain. I think it's because he gets easily distracted but you never know.
I'm glad that things are going so well. We thought they would and it's nice to see everything work out. If Timmy is playing with his toys and notices that Bud is just laying on the floor he will take Bud one of Bud's toys to play with. It's really cute. "Bud, here's your toy! Here's your toy, Bud!" and then he lays the toy in front of Bud and sometimes Bud does play with the toy right away. One of the more funny things I've noticed lately is that when Bud goes to lay down in our room (because that's where he sleeps) Timmy will notice that Bud is gone and say "Where'd Bud go? Where's Bud?" and look around the house until he finds Bud. It's very cute and sweet.
Erik and I have noticed that Bud is not a dog that will wait for us to go to bed either. Once it gets to be about 9:45/10 and Timmy is asleep (this seems to be the most important variable), Bud will just head on to our room and lay down. He'll come out when we call him to go out for the last time but other than that, he pretty much ignores us after 10.
I'm just glad that things are working out as well as they are.
