First I watched Mamma Mia! and really enjoyed it. I like musicals and this one was really cute. I like ABBA songs enough which also helped. For those of you who don't know, the story revolves around the wedding of Sophie, a 20-year-old, who doesn't know who her dad is. She finds her mom's diary from the year she was born and invite the 3 guys that her mom was with that summer in hopes that she'll be able to figure out which one is her dad and that her dad will walk her down the aisle. She does all of this without telling her mom or her fiance. All 3 of the guys show up and her mom finds out they are there but doesn't know why. Will Sophie find out who is her dad? How many ABBA songs will be sung? Watch and find out!
The other movie I watched was Burn After Reading, which was quite the let down after enjoying Mamma Mia! so much. This dark comedy has a large assortment of stars, but the story was just kind of creepy and dumb to me. I finished the movie, just so I wouldn't wonder about it later but was disappointed. The basic story is a guy quits his job and begins to write a memoir about it. His wife, who is cheating on him and wants a divorce, copies the memoir onto a disk on accident and gives it to her lawyer. The lawyer gives it to his secretary, who loses it at her gym. The disk is found at the gym and 2 of the workers want a reward for returning the information. Will they get their reward money? Will the movie ever make me laugh?
Anyway, my recommendation is Mamma Mia! over Burn After Reading any day.
