A Little Bit Sad

So I just got home from picking Timmy up from school (aka daycare) and I'm feeling a little down.  His one teacher, Ms. Simmons, isn't going to be Timmy's teacher anymore.  I feel a little silly for being down too because it's not like she's leaving his school.  She will be working with the 1-year-olds instead of the 2-year-olds, so she will still see Timmy around.  The kind of funny thing about that is, in a few weeks Timmy would be leaving Ms. Simmons anyway because he'll be going to the 3-year-old classroom.

I was thinking the whole ride home about why I feel bad about Timmy not seeing Ms. Simmons all the time, and I think it's completely selfish.  When we first started there about a year ago (yeah, can't believe it's been almost that long!) she really helped me adjust to Timmy being away from me and with other kids.  It was really hard at first because Timmy was crying when I left in the morning and crying when I came to get him in the afternoon.  Ms. Simmons let me know that wasn't how he was all day long and also gave me a few tips on how to make the transition easier on both Timmy and me.  She's always been very easy to talk to and you can tell that she really cares about the kids.  I'm glad that we will still be able to see her, even if it is only in passing.

I know this is only the first time I'll have to deal with this situation as well.  I have years of Timmy leaving good or bad teachers behind and moving forward.  It'll get easier though, right?

I hope it gets easier...I don't think I can handle it if I cried every day for the rest of his "school" career!
